About the client

The New 7 Wonders of Nature initiative, launched in 2007, aimed to create a list of seven natural wonders of the world through a global poll, allowing people worldwide to participate in the selection process. Led by Swiss-born Canadian Bernard Weber and organized by the New 7 Wonders Foundation, this initiative was the second in a series of Internet-based polls. Building on the success of the earlier New7Wonders of the World campaign, the initiative received an overwhelming response with 100 million votes from people around the world before voting closed on November 11, 2011. The campaign served as a remarkable demonstration of people's engagement with the preservation of natural wonders and the promotion of tourism around the world.

Project

We were tasked with the development and maintenance of the New7Wonders Foundation's nature voting platform, which aimed to document and conserve natural wonders worldwide. The platform was built using technologies like PHP, MySQL, jQuery, BackboneJS, Symfony, Wordpress, and GIT hosted on Github. We also utilized MongoDB, Phonegap, SASS, Gulp, MySQL, and AWS to ensure a seamless voting experience for users worldwide. The voting pages allowed users to vote for their favorite finalists and contribute to the conservation of natural wonders around the globe.
